Hop count in Exchange 2007

Can someone please explain to me how to change the hop count in Exchange 2007. This was simple to do in 2003, but for the life of me can't find the setting in 2007 or anywhere in this forum.
Any and all help is very much appreciated.

Any reason you need to adjust hop count? The default is there to protect you against infinite message loops. Just want to make sure we are not treating a symptom versus the problem.

Thanks Gareth,

We are trying to determine if a hop count is our problem. We have one particular Hotmail sender that keeps getting rejected no matter what we have done, and the NDR seems to indicate hop count failure. We just wanted to extend it to see if that was the problem.

This is the error:

Reporting-MTA: dns;BAY004-OMC1S3.hotmail.com
Received-From-MTA: dns;BAY174-W5

We have tried everything. This is a one person to one person email, so why it would be timing out is what we have been trying to discover.

One other thing... we were just told today that the sender is getting delayed messages before the failed NDR.
