Error 997. Overlapped I/O operation is in progress - Installing Exchange 2010 sp3 on Server 2012r2

Hello -  hope the experts can help me with this one -  i'm running into a hitch getting Exchange installed on this server.

I've been following this post as we are migrating from an SBS2003 server.
http://demazter.wordpress.com/2010/04/29/migrate-small-business-server-2003-to-exchange-2010-and-windows-2008-r2/

I've been able to perform all the prerequisites fine but get hung on the noted error.   The 2012 server is a domain controller.

There is no AV on the server 2012 box, i've uninstalled our backup software, Livevault, as suggested on a post.  Can't find a whole lot of other suggestions pertaining directly to this.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Exchange 2010 is not supported on Windows 2012 R2; only 2012
Exchange 2013 is supported on 2012 R2

I misread - i thought exchange 2010 sp3 could be installed on server 2012 r2 but i see now that it can only be installed in an active directory environment where 2012r2 AD is present.   I rolled back to installing Exchange 2010 as i ran into issues installing Exchange 2013.  I'll start a new post with those problems.
thanks for the clarification
