I am looking to move our corporate file shares from local disk to a SAN via DFS-R but have nearly 2,400 entries that will need to be "touched". Has anyone had success automating this through VB or anything else?

Best way to do it is to use Windows backup and restore it on each replica.  This way the files will not be replicated.
