YIKES! Can't open WAV file in Windows player OR Audacity!

Is there some sort of way I can repair or force open a WAV file.  I have no idea what happened but I get the message "error opening file"

Scary. This is an important file.

I used this method earlier in the year.   I had 3 corrupted files.    It only fixed 2 of the 3, but i was happy to have that much.    I already used VLC and was well aware of how handy and complete that software is, this wav fix just added another notch to how much i like the software.

Unless the file over corrupted over large parts, most of the audio should still be there. Did you get any more specific error message from either program?

Do you know the sampl erate and bit depth for the file?

I don't remember what the sample rate and bit depth is.  Audicity didn't generate a more specific message.
