I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

in a addition to answer: Q_28535415#a40383742 ....
with TEditDesigner connected to Ewb you can grab text:

lst: TStringList;
..
lst:=TStringList.Create;
try
  if EditDesigner1.ConnectDesigner = S_OK then
  begin
    EmbeddedWB1.SaveToStrings(lst);
    html_text := lst.Text;
  end;
finally
  lst.Free;
end;

Strange. I make Demo.html file with contents:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">
<HTML><HEAD><TITLE>Test</TITLE>
<BODY>
Some text here<br>
</BODY></HTML>

Open in new window

... load with:
var
  sFileName: string;
  lst: TStringList;
begin
    lst := TStringList.Create;
    try
      sFileName := ExtractFilePath(Paramstr(0)) + 'Demo.html';
      lst.LoadFromFile(sFileName);
      EmbeddedWB1.LoadFromStrings(lst);
    finally
      lst.Free;
    end;
....

Open in new window

...save again to file/list:
var
  sFileName: string;
  lst: TStringList;
begin
    lst := TStringList.Create;
    try
      sFileName := ExtractFilePath(Paramstr(0)) + 'Demo3.html';
      EmbeddedWB1.SaveToStrings(lst);
      lst.SaveToFile(sFileName);
    finally
      lst.Free;
    end;
....
