We are trying to work out where and why our SIP calls are intermittently have very poor quality, quiet, echoed. Were not losing packets as such (i think).
As usual our ISP say nothing wrong and telecoms co say its line..
We have ran a test ping on a number of IP's: google, switch, firewall, ISP hardware and our SIP provider IPs and response times are varying, but consistent. I also see that the LAN switch on occasion has hit a response time of 40ms and 110ms during the tests (all ran at the same time.
Is this test reliable enough?
What other tools could help?
