I do not think it has been that short. When I past a URL I can hardly read the website if the URL is very long. It's not been that way until today I think.<br />
I would have noticed it right off.<br />
There's barely room to put cursor and copy paste URL.<br />
And I know after seeing the tabs on the 2nd line it has never been that way either.

Well it's been a while since I used IE9, but even with IE11 it's exactly the same, that's why there is the option to move tabs to a new row so the address bar is full width<br />
It's one or the other - you cannot change the width.
