Adobe Reader File Open Error On Network

I'm getting this error from some , not all adobe files on the network Acrobat could not open <filename>.pdf because it is either not a supported file type or because it has been corrupted. Everything was fine til about 12 today. Some files work fine, others come up with this message, I've rebooted the sbs 2011 server, the workstations, i copied files to the local win 7 station, transferred a pdf to another system outside the network, same results. Adobe Acrobat reader 11 and Pro. Any thoughts?  This is a weird one.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I don't know what the fix is but I am aware of a workaround which is as follows:

Open Acrobat Reader, navigate to Edit -> Preferences.  Select the General section and uncheck the box to Enable Protected Mode at Startup

Have you tried the latest version and are you still experience same problem?

Do what Mohammed said or try a different reader and see if you the get the same results, if you do, then the file is corrupted, does not happen often but can happen, but make sure you're sharing these PDF in read only mode, if users have read and write access, then some corruption will happen.
