Displaying images stored in SQL Server as text

I've created a web app in Coldfusion that needs to loop some records and print a form that shows signatures.  The signature image data is stored in a column in a MSSQL database.

The signature field is stored as text (not varbinary or image).  

I've tried every way I know - including URI - to get them to display - no luck.

Anybody have any suggestions?

AFAIK, the only way it could be stored as "text" is if it were base64 encoded.  

Can you show us the code used to INSERT the image into the db? Then we can help you with how to display the results.

@LakinIT - So was it stored as a base64 encoded string?

It's more helpful to the next guy to archive the actual solution, rather than just guesses.
