generating a report from a .blg file

I created a perfom .blg file from a collector set I created the view file as a report button is grey-ed out in the tool bar. I was able to create a report that was a .html file once before but, I can't find the instruction on how to do it. does anyone know how the create the html report from the .blg file

The HTM you got was not a report but just a page with an ActiveX control on it that contains the standard Performance Monitor control.

The way you create this from a BLG is to open Performance Monitor
Hit the second button above the graph View Log Data (Ctrl+L)
Choose Log Files, Add, and pick your file.
Add the counters you want to see and do other customizations as desired.
Right click the graph then choose Save Settings As...
You will get an HTM that loads an ActiveX that reads the BLG(s) you specified.
You can modify this HTM to look at other files other ways too.
