what sort of menu button calls up this page of articles?  in the menu manger,
have a look at the menu item, then click on the tab "lists layout" (if its a category list menu)
and there should be on the list a "Article Order" usually set to Global, but you can override this and choose what order the articles are displayed.
if the menu is a different type again there should be a tab which will allow you to choose the ordering of the Articles.  If its Featured Articles then the tab is "layout" then look down and find the Article Order and change,
don't forget if you have a cache it will need clearing.

It doesn't seem to matter what menu item calls the articles.  The Menu Item's "Article Order" is set to "Article Manager Order".

What I've realized is that the Article Manager Order keeps going back to "ID Descending" (after I log out of admin) instead of staying on "Ordering Ascending".

So it seems my question has become: How do I get the Articles to be displayed in the order that appears when I change the Article Manager sort to "Ordering Ascending?"

Ok - if you log on to the admin and click on Content - then Article Manager then click on the "Options" on the top right, just under the joomla logo
then click on the tab "Shared Options"
then there will be list and choose "article Order'  drop down and choose the ordering you want.
don't forget to Save and clear out the cache.
