Ios 8 development questions

I just loaded up Xcode on my OSX Mavericks 10.9.5 and was able to download XCode with the iOS 8 development SDK.  As far as I can see, I can't seem to find all of the development templates that I've seen online and YouTube. And what is more, when the iPhone simulator pops open, the simulator is quite symmetrical and somewhat square as opposed to the rectangle shape of the iPhone.  Am I doing something wrong? Thanks!

Hi

Here is the ref link to get all development templates: https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/documentation/General/Conceptual/ExtensibilityPG/ExtensionCreation.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP40014214-CH5-SW1

iPhone simulator is rectangle , you might select the iPad simulator. Also please try option from Window -> scale -> 50% for iPhone simulator.
Means Launch iPhone simulator then try any one of this (Command Key + 1) or (Command Key +2) or (Command Key + 3) to scale size of simulator.

Thanks & Regards,

Hi VBBRett,

Those iOS 8 template supports iOS7 apps too.
You have to change "Deployment Target" to 7.0 to support both ios8 and ios7.
