How to create a new RDS farm in 2012 R2 ?

Hi Experts,

I am running now 4 TerminalServer and 2 GatewayServer with WIN2008.
Now I want to install all new on WIN2012 R2.
Do you have a manual and step by step guide to create a new farm with 4 server ?
Do I need the gateway server or this servers just optional ?

A gateway server is not required, 2012 has a new scenario based wizard for RDS. Start by running that. It'll configure all the basic things you need. From there, adding additional servers via server manager is a cakewalk.

ok sounds good.

Now I have 4 terminal server in 2008.
I have to create a new farm with 4 remote desktop servers.
Where do I have to install the Session broker ?

Except in rare edge cases, the traditional "farm" is gone in 2012. That's why I recommend using the scenario wizard. Now everything is defined in "collections" and the rdcb can provide the load balancing and availability that a farm used to.

As far as where, I am not a fan of colocating other roles on an RDSH server where users log in. So I'll put the RDCB, licensing, and maybe gateway and rdwa on one or more separate servers apart from the RDSH servers.

Ok the Collection is installed and the other services are installed on another server.
