What are a few tools (best kept secrets) for diagnosing sql server/performance/script issues?

Not programs I can find with google such as SolarWinds or SQL Sentry but a few gems that have never let you down.

I hear of the pains our admins have with tracking client/script/server issues and wanted to be alert to tools that we could be missing.

I am not a db admin although it seems sometimes their information is lacking, or a large amount of digging for solutions.
