Exchange 2010 SP3 CAS Failover

We are looking to implement a DR\Failover plan for our Exchange CAS servers. We are having a tough time leveraging a solution for having the DR CAS server take over in the event of a failure.

Our current setup is as follows:
Production:
PROD-CAS01
PROD-CAS02
(Above servers are in a CAS array named PROD-CAS00 which is a VIP being load balanced by a KEMP NLB)

PROD-DB01
PROD-DB02
(The above DB servers and the DR-DB01 server are in a 3-node DAG group)

Our DR setup is as follows:
DR-CAS01

DR-DB01

The idea is that if the Prod CAS servers as well as the KEMP NLB goes offline in production, mail flow in production will be redirected to the DR CAS server. Ideally we would like to keep the Outlook clients connected to exchange via the DR-CAS01 server.

Any direction\suggestions would be appreciated.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You are probably trying to make it too complicated.
In the event of a complete loss of the site, simply change the DNS records to point to the server that is now live. Don't try and automate it.

I work on the basis that if you have lost a site, then you will have bigger problems to worry about than a 10 second DNS change.

Simon.
