Hi,

I use a web based data tool called Cognos, its in the IBM family i believe.

I run reports off it, i download the extracts to  excel format and then do my work.

Is it possible using vba or linking, to call those reports directly to excel so i dont need the download

Many thanks

You should be able to get the SQL that sits behind the reports in COGNOS and then open a connection yourself to the underlying data from Excel, adding the required SQL in the connection properties.
