You have to develop the solution, you can use sharepoint portal or WSS 3.0 which has calendar interface and you also can add the maintenance schedule. You can target it for specific users and also you can add the fields you require.

In Sharepoint or WSS there are few templates available but you have to modify with your own requirement.  You need to develop, or seek an application from developer with your need if you are intented to use sharepoint.

You can use the below guide to prepare your application http://www.iso.org/iso/standards-work-on-the-web_iso-pub100205.pdf

As system admin you need to understand the concepts of Exchange server log files and database. There are separate process and procedure for each exchange server version : http://technet.microsoft.com/en-US/library/aa996058(v=exchg.150).aspx this link would help you to locate your products and associated help.

Backup : You need to backup what, there are best practices and standards based on the application we want to backup. It also depends on criticality of the data. There are different types of backup too, you need to understand what is your need and choose which suits your need. You need to backup daily, weekly full, weekdays incremental or differential if it is exchange, it gets changes depends upon application you want to backup.

Network : There are plenty of documents available on internet  it also depends on the network equipment you have in your environment.  Always keep in mind about security of network.

Database : Databases involves plenty of data, for instance SQL server or oracle you can replicate to another database on different site for failover or backup.

PC's : You can use GPO if you have windows domain controller to push the policy for the client to save the data on the server or share instead of users having data on the client pc's.

Servers : Again it depends on your requirement.

Please be precise with your question and what is your issue along with basic infra details to understand and provide solution / suggestions.

Please list out what are the items you require for ISO standards. There are many ISO certification available for companies, like ISO9001, ISO27001.

Few i know is to implement ISO 27001.

a) Implementing Service desk management, record all incident, problem, change and release management.
b) Event Log files need to be verified and fixed for all critical servers and recorded and action plan taken for each error.
c) List of pending and proposed and closed action items need to be set for each and every IT personal
d) IT Security is more important so need to do OS hardening, unnecessary ports needs to be blocked and only required ports to be allowed on the network.
e) Its better if you have user / ip /mac access based access control system like ASA5505 to provide proper access.
f) Proper change board needs to be formed to APPROVE change requests and have CMDB.
g) SCAN for network vulnerability
h) Patch management for all servers, desktops
i) Antivirus server and scan all the computers and servers to avoid threat.

all these are required and still more need to get certified for ISO 27001. Please consult with required ISO consultant and prepare your environment accordingly.

ITIL process is good for IT based organization or big IT departments. It is all process, anything you do will be recorded into database and get stored. This helps if any system admin leaves the next guy wont suffer, he will be helped by the processes. This big problem is to maintain hard copies of process documents. If you can maintain softcopy documents that is good enough.

Database server : It depends what kind of database server you have, i assume you have MS SQL, if you have latest version of SQL 2008/2012 you can enable DB replication between different sites.  You can store plenty of things on database but depends on the applications you use. Most of the ERP, CRM, DMS uses databases to store. DB is most important for any business applications. You need to take periodical backups, patch the updates regularly. For reports you can use SQL query for reporting purposes.

Exchange Server : You need to check the operation checklist in http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb232187(EXCHG.140).aspx this would help you. There are plenty of resources available in internet for exchange server. Messaging is vast area which you need to understand the basics and Exchange version you have in your environment.

Here are the objectives.

Network connectivity is to provide stable service for the users with proper LAN and Internet connectivity. When there is an outage there must be proper backup plan for the network. Network objective is to availability for the end users. Also you need to have backup of configuration of each and every network device incase of failure or replacement of device you can simply restore from the backup. Also in network security you need to block unwanted ports which safeguards the traffic and data.

Event log is to proactively monitor the server and if there is any warning, error and critical issue. It will indicate us to resolve the issues. For example if the time server not syncing, disk failures, bad sectors etc..,,

IT Security to ensure the all the mobile users laptops disks are encrypted when the laptop is stolen no one can access the data without proper encryption keys. IT security is more important roles for ISO certifications. Also the disk are properly allocated and safeguarded with complex password mechanism.

Database maintenance is an activity designed to keep a database running smoothly. Database maintenance includes checking for signs of corruption in the database, looking for problem areas, rebuilding indexes, removing duplicate records, and checking for any abnormalities in the database that might signal a problem. The goal is to keep the database operating smoothly for users, so that ideally they never need to think about maintenance issues. A database that is not maintained can become sluggish, and people may start to experience problems when trying to access records.

Disk Servers & Storage Cluster: Disk is to store the data and for workstation it is different, normal 500GB to 1TB is sufficient. But when it comes to server and high availability you need to opt for SAN (Netapp, IBM, HP Storage, EMC Clarion). Recommend to have SAN storage to store the server data and all the volume can be configured as RAID 5 OR RAID 10. Raid 10 is new technology which is good in performance and reliability.  when you are going for virtualization and high availability you need SAN for that. Virtualization is a concept of having few higher end hardware and run the servers in virtual. This provides more safe for the data.

Windows clusters are just to provide windows service or any application installed on it. To throw more lights on virtualization : There are two types of hypervisor, type 1 and type 2. Type 1 hypervisor is the best in terms of reliability and usage of SAN - Vmware VSphere with vmotion. Type 1 hypervisor sits as the host operating system and enable you to create virtual machines. It is reliable.

Type 2 hypervisor is Hyper-v, Virtual box and VMWare workstation versions. Type 2 hypervisor sits on top of any of the host operating system like linux, windows or mac osx.

High availability is to provide the service without any interruptions and incase there won't be single point of failure.

Like Vmware Vsphere with Vmotion. All the VM's are stored in SAN and accessed from it. When any of the VM host fails, then the the vmotion takes care of the virtual machine and just start it on the available host. This is worst case scenario when the host hardware fails. But when the disk fails the storage will alert you about the disk failure and you need to replace the disk and it starts rebuilding automatically or manually depends on the SAN you own.

Blade system with cluster implementation and the SAN as a storage does pretty well. Also think about VMware with Vmotion virtualization it would be the best.

Yes there is a difference in Policy & SOPs,

By definition Policy is : The set of basic principles and associated guidelines, formulated and enforced by the governing body of an organization, to direct and limit its actions in pursuit of long-term goals. (serves as its legal evidence). Policy is basically " WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE" in the company and procedures are " HOW TO DO IT"
So, Policy is the rule or regulation that you set for a company.

SOP : Written procedure prescribed for repetitive use as a practice, in accordance with agreed upon specifications aimed at obtaining a desired outcome within a given time frame limited to a set of specified tasks. SOPs or procedures make it more clear and transparent that how will you implement those rules and regulations.

Data infrastructure means having good storage like SAN (netapp, emc clariion depends on the support).

Hardware you can have powerful servers hardware to host virtual environment like virtual servers.
