Hello

I am looking for an Excel function that will return the number of different instances of a specific label in a column

Example:

COLUMN A
33D
33D
33D
33D
R4R
5AZE
5AZE
TTET
TTET
TTET
,,,
,,,

Will return something that will help me know thaT
33D = 4 times
R4R= 1 time
5AZE = 2 times
TTET=3 times
and so on...

Use COUNTIF() function. Example in attached file.

thank you but I may have explained wrongly

The problem is that I have 15000 lines in column A, without knowing the exact content to manually build column D and I want precisely to generate automatically column D  !

Column D will be (like in your sheet) same content as column A but only ONE TIME every unique instance

How to generate automatically column D?

If you want to automatically generate count column, use pivot table (see example).
