Hey guys,

We are running vmware esx 4.1, and i am implementing Veeam for backups. To test access, they had me download a VMX from the datastore and it failed with a "Unable to logon to NFC Server" error message.

Can you tell me whats wrong here?

Check, you can resolve the FQDN, hostname, and IP Address of the Host Server.

how are you connecting by IP, Hostname of FQDN ?

Turn off your firewall.

Yes, I know, we've seen the error message.

How are you connecting to the ESXi Server?

what are you entering IP Address, FQDN, Hostname ?

NFR key for Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365

Veeam is happy to provide a free NFR license (for 1 year, up to 10 users). This license allows for the non‑production use of Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 in your home lab without any feature limitations.

So...

what are you entering IP Address, FQDN, Hostname ?

Did you check your firewall, on your PC, and disable it.

Have you tried from another PC?

Have you tried the Web Client ?
