Hi.

Could someone spare a minute of time for me and test something?

->Requirement: Lenovo t540p with windows installed.
->connect the power, remove the battery, boot windows.
->open task manager, go to the performance tab where (at least on win8) you see the frequency the cpu is currently running at, it should be 0.75GHz when idle.

->open cmd and fire the following command
@echo off & for /l %a in (0,0,1) do echo Test

Open in new window

***keep it running***

->Now please watch the CPU frequency - what does it run at now?
->(only) If at 3.5 GHz, please reply here what Bios version you use and what OS (if unsure, start msinfo32.exe to see).

Thanks

It turned out to be Lenovo's fault. The t540p ships with a 60watt power supply that is not able to charge the laptop/to deliver the correct current/whatever. With a 90w power supply, this does not happen.
