Hey guys

Quick question. I have a customer who wants an application developed and put on his SBS 2011 server using SharePoint.  The application would be a database backend and use a website that is linked on his companyweb site.  I know how to make simple calendars and directories for file sharing and such but a full blown website I am not certain about. I want to develop it on the SBS 2011 website because I want it to use the Active Directory for authentication

I'm still not sure what your question is?   One of the things that folks supporting small business customers don't always understand is that we aren't expected to know everything.
There are tons of questions that need to be ask here.   You need to find a trusted SharePoint Developer who is willing to partner with you to work on this project.   You should not expect this guy or girl to work for the same rate you do.   It's perfectly OK for you to tell your customer that this outside your area of expertise and you'll need to bring someone in to do the work and they will have a different bill rate from what you have.   I've been doing SBS for over 18 years and I would bring an outside developer if my customer had such a request.
