ASA has Anyconnect license for 2 clients for free by default. You can setup and test it before investing in license.

If you are looking for a VPN solution for proxy purposes, here are some that offer free trial
www.anonymizer.com
www.start-vpn.com

Or you can setup VPN on your ASA without paying for license.

hi alan,  thanks for the links.

note: out of the box - my asa5505 inbound/outbound is configured and connected via my cisco2950 switch to my windows 2008 domain controller/ad/dns/dhcp server & my win 7 desktop can receive internet access successfully

now I wish to test that I can use a vpn as below:

I have attempted to setup a vpn using either 'ssl or ipsec' but as it appears I do not have any images so receive errors, so how do I use the free by default  ?

my asa states:

 (all below are perpetual)

anyconnect premium peers - 25
anyconnect essentials - 25
other vpn peers - enable
total vpn peers - 25
shared license - 25

asa 5505 security plus license

running permanent activation key: xxxxxx xxxxxxx xxxxx xxxxxxx xxxxxx

You should be able to download the anyconnect images for multiple platforms with the service contract login to which your anyconnect license is associated.

Plus, it does not necessarily have to be Anyconnect if all you need is secure VPN connectivity.

well if you can download the VPN image from the link then you do not need this at this stage.
Unfortunately we can not help you regarding obtaining licensed property.
You may ask the seller about the image or go for the clientless option I have suggested in the link I have posted previously.
