Reinstall yosemite

I decided to do a reinstall by booting into the recovery part and using the Internet to download and reinstall but it has been stuck half way fir the longest while

Since 10 PM last night I doing this and now is 3 pm

Is this normal??

What to do???

Hello,

Is your Mac connected via wireless or wired?  If wired, can you tell if there is activity on the network port on the back of the Mac?  Yosemite is very large, I believe around 5 GB so if you have a slower connection it can take several hours.  Do you have any other devices on your network that are still able to access the Internet?

i solved this i ended up going into disk utility and repairing disk and permissions and it worked
