Installing python mysql database connector for django

Hello,

I'm trying to install the mysql database connector for django 1.4; this is the error I'm getting:

I've tried several tutorials on this; and I've successfully installed mysql drivers for python 2.7, which I verified here: http://dev.mysql.com/doc/connector-python/en/connector-python-example-connecting.html

errang$ python
Python 2.7.6 (default, Sep  9 2014, 15:04:36)
[GCC 4.2.1 Compatible Apple LLVM 6.0 (clang-600.0.39)] on darwin
Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.
>>> import mysql.connector
>>> cnx = mysql.connector.connect(user='root', password='', host='127.0.0.1', database='BACGA')
>>> cnx.close()
>>>

@clockwatcher is correct.  I have used both routines and they are different and require different code.
