What's the IP Address of your vCenter Server ?

Are you typing the IP Address in the vSphere Client box?

Are you sure that is the correct IP Address?

Is your firewall disabled?

if you type the following:-

telnet <ip address of vcenter server> 443

telnet <ip address of vcenter server> 80

the above commands should connect, and confirm the ports are open.

If you try from another computer, does it work?

What is the OS ?

Okay, check the Windows vCenter Service is started ?

Check the size of the database is not larger than 4GB or 10GB depending on version of vCenter Server and SQL Express.
