Customize individual home screens and/or layout on iPad

Is it possible to set different home screens on an iPad?  I don't simply want to personalize it (i.e. change the home screen to be a picture of my kids), I want to be able to customize each home screen.  I can't find Apps that explicitly describe this feature. Does my question make sense?  We've got 4 screens worth of icons...I want to sort those to be blue screen for kids games, red screen for finance icons, green screen for  mom games, etc.  Oh, tied to this is the desire to NOT have icons tied to a grid.  Is that possible?  Any help appreciated.

I appreciate the short answer is No, but I don't believe that jailbreaking the iPad is the only solution to this.  There are no Mac Hackers who have developed some kind of app for this?  On the other hand, maybe this is a sign indicating how truly limited this piece of technology is.  Thanks for answering.  You helped more than anyone else so far.
kpolacek - feel free to keep looking but I'll guarantee you that you won't find any apps in the app store to do this.  Unless Apple want to offer it as a feature of iOS then no apps are able to interfere with such features of the core iOS system without explicit permission by Apple as part of the developer software it provides.  Hackers will not be allowed to sell apps in the App Store so as I said before Jailbreak if you want iOS to be as customisable as Android.

Apple have always had a fairly strong attitude to customisation ... yes you can customise but only on their terms.  By locking down iOS and preventing options such as the ability to position icons wherever you like they prevent people "losing or misplacing" icons on their screens.   Customising the backdrop on each screen however would seem to be a fairly harmless feature/request but Apple don't seem to think you need it enough or not enough people have pestered them so you're guess is as good as mine if it will ever be an option in iOS.  By locking down the iOS and hardware they have a very managed eco system which is much easier to manage and more stable than many other platforms but at a price.
Thanks for this additional info.  I think I'm going to have to go Android.  (I got an iPad originally at work [I'm a librarian; we all got them as an experiment] and I thought it was amazing at the time.)  An iPad at home?  Eh, the only people who's needs are meet here are age 7 and 9 and the products they access involve farms, birds, and Ninjago.
