Exchange 2010 SP3 - "Remove-Mailbox" and personal archives

Greetings.  After a set period of time, we export users' e-mail to a .PST, then remove them from Exchange/AD with the remove-mailbox command in ps.

We just started using personal archives ("online" archiving, as MS describes it).

Question:  does the remove-mailbox command also delete/remove the archive mailbox for the user ?

Thanks much.

Short answer - yes.

Obviously, if you have the archive mailbox in a different database with different retention times, then the archive can be available to be reattached in a different window to the primary.

Hmmm. The archive is in a different database. So "remove-mailbox" will remove the user's regular mailbox in one database in additional to his/her archive mailbox in a different database ?
