what is the best software to create (.xll) add-ins

anyone has experience with any good compiler .  I need to protect some vba code and create xll add-in.

can you recommend some software?

This question has come up before.  I think you could create a COM add-in with Visual Basic 6, but it won't work with 64-bit Office.

thanks Glenn.    I want the add-in not to have any limitations.  

while I was goggling I found this free Excel DNA  http://excel-dna.net/   do you have any knowledge about this?
