Hi,

I have Sql Server installed on one computer on a small network, I will call it computer a,
I have full admin rights to SQL Server and I want to start Management Studio from another computer (computer b) which is on the same network.

Is this possible...?

Thank you

You will first need to enable remote connectivity to the SQL server you wish to connect to.

Read this articles where it speaks about the steps and also provides how to mitigate issues with this type connectivity,

If both the machines are on the same network, you can just add the SQL Sever Instance name in you SQL Management Studio

SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio) it's only a GUI and can be installed in any computer. Then you need to register the SQL Server instances that you want to connect to, so what you need is to install SSMS in the computer B and then register the SQL Server instance that exists in computer A.
