I am currently using the VMware vSphere client in order to add a NAS storage unit. It is a Synology RS814 server and when I go to "Add Storage" and add in the proper IP and folder, it processes and then fails with the following error.(See attachment). I am currently stuck and cannot figure out how to move forward, any help would be greatly appreciated.

A couple of things....

1. Have you added a VMKernel Portgroup on the same network as your NAS?

2. Have you enabled NFS on your NAS?

3. Have you added the Management IP Address as part of access control to your NAS?

4. Did you setup Exports/Shares on your NAS?

Your checklist of items was very helpful. In addition, the Video Tutorials were excellent in their ability to point us in the right direction for fixing this problem and one other that we were having, particularly the one showing "Adding NFS Datastore to a VMware vShpere host server.
Thank You.
