Adobe InDesign & Illustrator CC cannot open or save from network

A user with Adobe InDesign & Illustrator CC is having errors opening and saving files to an AFP share. Both client and server computers are Mac OS X; Mavericks on the client and Lion on the server. File permissions on the share appear to be correct, as the user can save files locally and copy them to the network. Also, other non-Adobe applications can read & write to the same network share. InDesign will throw an error opening a file, but you can click OK, try opening the file again, and it will open. But neither InDesign nor Illustrator will save a file to the network. Attached are screenshots of the errors. Adobe support says that this is a network issue, and they do not support reading or writing files to a network share. Any thoughts?
