OneNote notebook at work will not open/sync
Hi Techs,
My OneNote notebook at work will not open/sync. We use this to put our weekly reports in so the Mgr can read them. It wont sync. The error is:
"We can't access this section file because there's a problem with the network. We'll try again later. (Error code: 0x3B)"

From the machine that's not syncing, is the network location accessible? Is it on a mapped network drive? When you open my computer, does the drive show as "network drive" or "disconnected"? If "disconnected" double click it to open it. That will connect it. Try synching again.

The location is accessible to ping etc. Ive mapped the folder to my computer on my desktop but it's not in My Computer, no
so it is not accessible, correct? Who controls your network? You say it is mapped, but it doesn't show up in your computer. Is the network location turned on and do you have rights to write to it?
Does anyone else that is supposed to be updating this notebook also have this error or any other error?

Yes, I shouldve mentioned that several techs on my team cannot access their notebooks on the server
Sorry, I didn't see the email til today.
Has there been any firewall updates or antivirus updates that may be blocking? Does the mapped drive show up in your desktop?
Who controls the network and the server? What have they said about it?

- No updates that affected it
- Mapped folder is on my desktop
- Server team has not seen it as a problem.

Can you open the mapped folder? Is the Notebook file in the folder? If it's there, can you right click it and select open?
If yes, after opening, in Onenote go to File and select the notebook and Sync it. Does that work?
Did this ever work correctly previously?

Can you move it to another folder location on the network that is reachable by all the necessary people that need to reach it? Does it work then?
Also, what version of office is this and what version of windows are you running? There may be a cached password in onenote that may be blocking you.
