Check if an URL is safe to browse.

We have users request to unblock some URLs on our security gateway.  

Experts, where do you usually to go to check if the unknown URLs are good or not?

Please advise.

Firefox subscribes to Google's Safe Surfing function and will tell you if the site is known to be a problem.  Of course... that can't tell you if it just got infected today.  Avast anti-virus does a pretty good job if the malware is known to them.  But once again, if it is 'brand new', no one can tell you about it.
