Office 365 Upgrade

Hi,

We have upgraded a clients Office 365 plan from Small Business (25 users) to ProPlus

Now all our office packages are asking for an activation key even though the office 365 accounts are still the same.

I have had to re-install office on 2 of the PCs in the office but I don't want to do this for the other 20+

is there a way of getting round the activation on these without the re installation.

thanks

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I've yet to confirm this, so dont take it for 100% true, but since you are getting new Office SKU with the new plans, the old licenses do not match the new SKU. Thus the need to download the new version from the Portal and install it instead of the old one.

If however you mean reinstall of the old version (not downloading the new one from the portal), you should be able to follow the instructions here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg702620(v=office.15).aspx

Or here for specific errors: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg998767(v=office.15).aspx

You may wish to try the following:

In one of the Office Applications go to the File tab and select the Help menu. In the pane on the right hand side there is an option to change Product Key. Clicking this opens up an Activation window. As I don't have an alternative Product Key to enter, I haven't been able to go any further than this.

Thanks

After a chat with Microsoft support team we had to login to the new office 365 accounts and click the "install" tab again.

It's been a pain but all sorted now.
