Not really a problem more of an understanding issue.

Background
Migrated from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2010 some time ago. Backed out the old exchange server and I am currently preparing to migrate Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013. We use Public Folders.

Current situation
We have one Exchange 2010 server that holds a single Public Folder database.

Question
Looking at the replication tab on our current public folders which is held on, lets say 'server1' there is a replication entry to replicate to 'server1'. Now this may be correct but I am not understanding why it replicates to itself.
If I attempt to remove that replica from within the public folder gui I get an error - You must specifty a value with the replicas parameter.

It doesn't appear to be causing us an issue but would like to understand this and cannot find any information on it.

it doesn't replicate to itself
it shows what servers have copies of that folder
at least one server has to be listed there; can't be null since it needs to exist somewhere
