How to turn down volume in iphone 5S ?

Volume on a 5S is controlled by the plus and Minus buttons on the left of the phone.  It will apply to what ever app you are using.  So if you want to turn down the ring volume .. decrese while you phone is ringing.

To silence your %s .. there is a small flick switch above your plus and minus controls on the upper left.  Flip it toward the back of the phone to silence it
