Subtract one hour from cells with m/d/yyyy h:mm

I have data provided in one time zone and need to subtract one hour from the cell contents to adjust to another time zone. When I attempt to correct using a formula with the cell address - 1, it subtracts from the day.

To subtract one hour from a cell (assuming data is in cell A1 in this example)
=A1-(1/24)
