Hi Experts, as the heading suggests, I have Visual Studio 2012 for Windows Phone.    I'm trying to send a simple mail using smtpclient.   I can reference system.net but it does not show mail in the list.   I have added the System reference but not succeeded.   Any ideas?

There are no SMTP APIs available on Windows Phone.

Use Windows.ApplicationModel.Email.EmailMessage as shown here (Sending an email message Windows Phone Store)

Alternatively, you can use Microsoft.Phone.Tasks.EmailComposeTask to compose an e-mail using the inbuilt mail client. See example here (How to use the email compose task for Windows Phone 8)
