Cannot enable the Attachment Filter -> "Attachment Filter Agent" was not found.

on the HUB Transport server this command is not known.
Any ideas ?

My error - I thought it was possible without Edge, but it appears not.
You will have to use a third party tool.
This one looks like it does similar functionality.

No I am not using it, it was something that I found ages ago and it was in my notes.
I have no clients on anything older than Exchange 2010 now.
Even then I was using third party tools to do this job. The built in Exchange filtering simply isn't up to the job.

which tools you are using for filtering attachments ?

Don't do much filtering of attachments these days - as most antispam applications block the infected stuff as well (the same methods are used for sending spam as sending malware infected email). However for attachment removal, Exchange based AV is the most effective. Lots of choice there. GFI Mail Essentials Security is a popular choice I have in a number of locations.

What do you mean by not possible? You would need to use a third party tool to do the filtering, not the native.

ok I see, so my Firewall cannot scan attachments inside emails.
In this case I have to buy someting extra ?
