Ok guys.  I am still stuck on an issues for a client.  He has multiple Outlook .PST files and he can't search the inbox for his main PST.  He can search all of his other PST files but not his main.  I have reindexed in Outlook under Outlook options.  I have also added a new registry entry:

 "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Search"

"Prevent Indexing Outlook” to “0” (without the quotes). To do this, right click on the “Prevent Indexing Outlook” key, select “Modify…”, then change the value data to “0”.

This had no affect either.  Anytime you try to search in Outlook Current Mailbox it just says searching...   So, I'm back to square on.  I'm trying to avoid reinstalling Outlook.  He has 4 email addresses and all are IMAP and it will be a night mare to reconfigure his Outlook.  Advice?

Thanks!

Tim

I would try a repair on the Office installation firstly, have you tried removing and re-adding the PSTs?

Hopefully this may help you

I ended up taking the user off of POP and to Exchange.  This fixed the issue.

Not really the fix I wanted but I ran out of time.  Exchange is the way to go anyway.
