Tried downloading latest printer drive, nope, Tried uninstalling Acrobat and installing newest version, nope. Tried everything I could find on Acrobat help and Microsoft help and HP help (main printer is an HP inkjet) NOTHING!  Please help.

Can we assume that you are using Adobe Acrobat Reader version 11?
Did you check your Default Programs / Associate...   and make sure that .pdf and .pdfxml  both accosiate with the PDF Reader.

Open Acrobat Reader and under help - Check for updates
Also Under Help - Repair

Any error messages? Have you tried a different PDF reader? There are many free ones available. I use PDF-XChangeViewer

The master security settings in Adobe Preferences were on so that Protected View was on. We set it to off and it worked.
