Windows Event Collector Server max amount of clients

I am in the process of setting up my windows environment to forward and collect events onto a centralized server.

Is there a max amount of clients a single Windows collector server can gather from? Or does this depend of the beefiness of collector server/host?

no known limit but going through the events will need some cpu power
