Using jquery Dynamically add a tooltip to a button using the results obtained from a pl/SQL function

I have a button.  I want to assign tooltip.  The value of the tooltip is obtained from a function call.  I want to use jquery.

something like this:

function assign_tool_tip() {
    return "Sample Tool Tip";
}

$(function() {
    $('#butt1').attr("title", assign_tool_tip()).tooltip();
});
