I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Test harness and unit test are not the same thing, but they are related. Test harnesses often run unit tests.

A unit test is a small test that tests one piece of functionality of one small part of the system.
A test harness is code that enables you to test faster. They can be automated systems that run a lot of tests and collect and summarize the results, etc.

The second question is hard to understand because it seems to be missing a piece. Demonstrate what? "Debug mode" is typically some way of running the code where you can stop the code and run one line at a time. You can also inspect different variables to see what their values are in the middle of the program. If you are using C#, then you are probably using Visual Studio which has a very nice debug mode. Running your test harness in debug mode would allow you do see a lot of things so you should be able to demonstrate whatever you need to.
