Meeting booking from Shared mailbox to Book Room Mailbox

Hello Team,

I have a Shared Mailbox showing in my calendar  from which booking a Room Mailboxes. Please confirm what is the procedure or can we book the Room.

Shared Mailbox and room mailbox is on Exchange 2010. When sending any meeting Request. I got the revert that

" Your Meeting is Declined. You do not have permission to Book this Resource"

Please tell what need to check and which mailbox need to be checked.

Have you configured the Resource Policies for the Room Mailbox? In the Exchange Management Console > expand Recipient Configuration on the left pane > click on Mailbox > locate your Room Mailbox > right click on it then click on Properties > review the Resource General, Resource Policy, Resource Information, Resource In-Policy Requests and the Resource Out-of-Policy Requests tabs.

Yes i have already configured the same.. please tell why that error is coming while booking the rooms

In the Resource In-Policy Requests tab, is All User selected in the Specify users who are allowed to submit in-policy meeting requests that will be automatically approved: section?

the issue is now.. when user Book the Meeting room and in attendee add himself also. then issue is .. Full detail of meeting not appearing in Calendar

I also want to tell you that, Meeting Room are on O365 and the user who is booking meeting and make himself in attendee is on Premises Exchange.

Also by going to meeting room properties i have Select Default Paramater to Full Details.

So please tell is this something due to the Mailbox and Meeting are on different different Environment.

Can you please outline the method that the user is using to book the appointment in the Meeting Room? Are the full details of the appointment not visible to the user that booked the appointment or only for other users?

User outlook is 2010. User is on on premises exchange and meeting room are on O365.
when booking the meeting. User can see the full details in her calendar but in meeting room it is not showing full details..in her calendar

She having full access on meeting room so that room already seen in Calendars. So when booking meeting..full detail not showing in meeting room, but same meeting showing full details in her calendar.

Title of the meeting not seen...sorry i dont have screenshot
i tell u..ehat ever the title is givibg in meeti g that is not showing..but fre/ busy information is showing

I think is this the problen due to cross forest..
because user mailbox is on premises and meeting rooms are on cloud offixe 365

Does the user actually have at minimum Reviewer access to the room calendar?

Is there a particular reason why the room mailbox must reside on O365 and not on your Exchange on-premises server?

Microsoft recommends the following in this article - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj215781(v=exchg.150).aspx
If you’re running Exchange 2013 in a hybrid scenario, make sure you create the room mailboxes in the appropriate place. Create your room mailboxes for your on-premises organization on-premises, and room mailboxes for Exchange Online side should be created in the cloud.
Yes, I know it refers to Exchange 2013 but the principle is largely the same with Exchange 2010.

Is it saying like, if user is on Premises and Room are on office 365 then Permission not work. like delegate and Meeting information. and we need ot put the mailbox on Same Environement  ?

Hi Andy, sounds similar to what I said above :)

In this scenario, I think it's best you either move the user's account to O365 or create a Room mailbox on your on-premises Exchange server.

Whatever the case, has your original query been resolved? i.e. when sending meeting requests to a room mailbox you were receiving the "Your Meeting is Declined. You do not have permission to Book this Resource" error message.
