Hi All,

I have an application which connects to my SQL 2008 R2 server, I have 200 users connected and using it, one week before I some users started to get an error while opening the application . the error ( could not connect to database, Microsoft OLE DB provider for SQL. SQLState HYT00 timeout expired .

I have tested the network from the client to server and see no slowness and the ping is stable. the user will connect after clicking the message, my SQL application is client/server and I don't user any ODBC.

This issue happeining for some users and not for all. my link fiber and its stable

Please advise

HYT00 errors are network layer associated. Thus it maybe really that these users have a network problem (nic, switches).

Where do they get the error? When connecting or executing SQL statements? Consider using SQL Profiler..

Gosh, what does this mean? Open the application? Are you the developer of this application, a DBA of the servers behind or just the guy to fix it?

It always the same users having this issue?
It always occurs at the same time of the day?
It always occurs in the same option inside the application?
