What have you tried to attach the database*? What are the error messages*?

btw, depending on the Acronis version, you may have a corrupted database file(s),

*) Post your script and its output.

Acronis does scare me, it's an old version of Acronis.

I go into SQL Studio Express / File / Open point to the .mdf file and get the following error:

sql error

Wrong approach. Right click on the server node in the object explorer and choose attach database.
