Microsoft Office 2013 Upgrade broken weblinks

Hello,

We just recently upgraded some of our computers from Microsoft Office 2010 to 2013.  We also use a fingerprint reader here from digitalPersona.  Well, now the websites that previously worked with the fingerprint reader, do not.  They worked right before the Office 2013 upgrade.  I'm hoping someone has seen this one before although this may be a longshot.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I don't know digitalPersona so only suggestion I have is to ask if you have the latest version of it and if you have all the updates for Office 2013?

After upgrading DP to the latest version, the problem still persists.  I am checking on the Office 2013 updates.  I'll keep updating this question as we go.  Thank you for all your help.

Well, we happened upon a solution for this by accident.  One of our IT personnel was working on one of the problematic computers and moved the fingerprint reader to a different port and it started working again?  Stopping and restarting the service seemed to assist in finalizing the fix.  So, there you have it, moving the fingerprint reader to a different port and restarting the service, fixed the problem.  Weird, but true.

Thank you for all of your help on this issue.
