Template for ETL Job plans and monitoring ETL Jobs

Hi,

I am looking for some templates on how to monitor ETL Loads and ETL Jobs. What kind of checklists, inventory of jobs list, checklists, process flow diagrams people use to build a robust ETL Team and ETL System.

I am working at  a place where nothing is documented and systems and processes are pretty much non-existent.

I have some ideas but I want to get experts help in managing this informatica ETL team better

Hi Anshu,
There is no golden rule when it comes to managing and monitoring ETL jobs. I would contact Informatica and ask for ETL best practices. They are ETL leader and should be able to provide you direction on how to manage ETL effectively.

Just a suggestion, I would start @ interface level of ETL jobs. For example: Job is doing what, what database it is reading and where it is writing too, how mapping is done, mapping conventions used, etc.
