sfc /scannow run but I get now files restored

Windows 2003 Enterprise 64 bit SP2

Made this change

Set SFCDisable to 1 to disable File Protection. You may have to type "SFCDisable = 1" in the registry field, or simply click "SFCDisable = 1."

 restarted server

ran sfc /scannow   Still getting this message for many files.

Have you checked to see if the files mentioned in the error messages actually exist?

ASKER

Thanks for replying

Just checked   some files are NOT there and some files ARE there

Any thoughts?
Do you think my %systemroot%\system32\dllcache folder  is corrupted?

If So how do I fix that
No these messages are benign, hence why their Event Type is Informational.

If it really was a problem, they'd be classified with either the Warning or Error Event Type, and you would be prompted to insert the Windows installation media. If you didn't need to insert the installation disk and the scan completed then these events can be safely ignored.
The sfc /scan now does ask for the windows 2003 installation sp2 cd which I put into the server

So I think I have a corrupt cache folder
Possibly. What exact issue are you experiencing here that made you run the sfc /scannow command? Is the server crashing on you?
No
The server crashed only  twice due to a power failure the UPS batteries went bad.

Ever since the power failure my backup job gives an error

I have another post for that which I cant get resolved.

see this for explanation of issue

https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/28542800/NTBackup-Windows-2003-Server-event-id-8001.html
In a CMD window, run CHKDSK C: /F which will say it needs to run at the next boot.  Say yes and reboot.
SFC /SCANBOOT should the repair the DLLCACHE folder.
Doesn't CHKDSK require running in an Administrative Command Window, or did that change in Server 2008?
DavisMcCarn

I have run chkdsk before

But I scheduled one for next restart     since I have a Microsoft update to apply which requires a restart

also ran sfc /scanboot    which also requires a restart.

This is a production server so I have to wait till the weekend to restart.

Will post results
Ok Guys

Restarted server   chkdsk c: /F    run no errors clean

sfc /scanboot    also ran after restart

Still have the same issue.
I think http:#a40443890 contains the correct answer.

Error code 0 means 'no error'; plus, there's the [The operation completed successfully.] part after nearly all of them.
